Enabling external VOIP through a 2820

My new 2820 (basic one - not built in voip) seems to be blocking VOIP via my Linksys PAP2 voip box.
I'm new to this and I wonder if someone could give me some pointers to what i have to do with NAT/Firewall, etc to allow voip through.
(SIP ports 5060 and 5061)
Thanks
Steve

Hi,
The answer depends on whether your voip provider uses an outbound NAT proxy or not. If the answer yes, go into the telnet management on the router and disable SIP ALG. Go to sys, then you will find sip_alg. Essentially the provider takes care of the NAT issue.

If the answer is no, then it is best to forward ports for SIP 5060-5064, and for RTP. You need to check your device to find what ports these are. You might need to configure STUN on your device if you have a dynamin IP address.
Kind regards
