2800vg 3G access was created by trottm
I upgraded my 2800vg firmware to 2.8.2 and am trying to setup a Huawei E160 modem. The list shows the E160G modem as being OK and since they are more or less the same I am hopeful. It seems to get somewhere but the connection is not getting made. My sys log trace is below but I am none to sure what to read from this, can anyone give me any pointers. The E160 is an unlocked O2 modem and I am using it on 3 with APN 3internet and dial string ATDT*99#
Just for fun I tried my Nokia E61 phone with the same settings as for the modem and it worked straight away. (another device to add to the list that works).
Thanks in advance.

It looks like it's not detecting the modem properly - put the 2.8.2.1 beta firmware on it, I found that most of the modems that are listed as supported on the Draytek.com site only work with that firmware version.

Thanks, I tried the beta firmware and that made no difference.
Then I checked the alt adsl version of 2.8.2 which says in the notes that the E160 is supported. I tried that version but no joy. I also borrowed a ZTE modem that was supposedly supported but no joy either. My E61 phone still connects with the same settings.
I am loathed to go and buy another USB modem when I am having so little success. Which modem worked for you? Did you have any specific firmwares on the modem?
