Using Vigor 2955 only as SSL VPN via port 443 passthrough

Yes I know it's not really taking advantage of the full facilities but we have good reason not to change the current router setup right now. Port forwarding 443 is easily facilitated on the current router.

So my question is, can the 2955 be utilized to facilitate SSL VPN by port forwarding all https requests received at the fixed ip of the current router? If so how would this be achieved? Could it just be connected to one of the main network switches via one of the lan ports or does it have to be connected directly to one of the router ethernet ports as well? If it does have to be connected to the router directly as well, then which port on the 2955 should it be connected to?

I tried all the faq's, pdf manuals, etc. but couldn't find an answer. Appreciate some help on this.
