Configuring Draytek 2920 with Netgear DM111p

Have you tried the DM111p in full bridging mode? As far as I'm aware, you'd just change the protocol from PPPoA to RFC2648 and maybe change the encapsulation from VC-MUX to LLC (not sure about that one).
Then you could make a PPPoE connection on the 2920 and wouldn't need to worry about the IP address of the DM111p - although with that said I think the DM111p should also forward through the IP address directly so that may also circumvent that problem.

Agree with full bridge mode - I thought it was a different RFC (1483) but no matter.

The only reason for getting the modem onto a different subnet is so you can administer it from the LAN side of the router (if that works as a concept in bridge mode).

..... and the other thing I was going to add when all was done and dusted was that if you are ever going to consider VPN's, you really should not use the 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 subnets on your LAN or Modem. If you can bite the bullet on your current set up I would. Even if you don't want a VPN now you may change your mind further down the line.

I would also keep clear of 192.168.10.0/24 and 192.168.100.0/24.

Hey Guys,

I have tried doing all those things this morning, i tried to ping the netgear dm111p 192.168.1.0 and didn't even register in fact the wan1 said that there was nothing there even though leds where flashing on both devices?

I have set to RFC2684 Bridge mode, but still no joy. the netgear says itt got internet connection but pppoe details from draytek don't seem to be getting through.

Thanks,
Patrick
