Dynamic IP Address 2820 Router was created by daverb
Hi all,

I run a small webserver from home but my ISP only offers Dynamic IP addresses.

I have access to the internet pretty much everyday at work.

Occasionally the IP address changes and I need to change the DNS settings from my Domain Name provider to match the new IP address.

Ideally I need the router to email me when it gets a new Dynamic IP address.

Hoping for too much?

have you tried the dynamic dns features? may not be much good if you have an existing dns you need to use.
I don't thinnk that you're going to get the router to do this for you.
You could combine the dynamic dns feature with a script of your webserver. The script could do a dns lookup for your fixed dns and the dynamic one and then email you if they are different, or something along those lines...

Got a free program for the webserver that monitors the gateway IP and emails me if it changes. :)

Will just update it manually when it changes. I can access a webpage from the company I purchased the domain name from and change the DNS details.
