I've configured a Squid proxy for the LAN and that part has gone without any problems. I realise that I must block traffic from all hosts through my 2820n except from the Squid proxy.

I'm having difficulty configuring the router to block outgoing traffic. As a test, I'm sitting at a PC (172.19.0.10/16) and have configured the following:

Firewall > Filter Setup
Enabled: Filter Set 3 Rule 1

Direction: LAN -> WAN
Source IP: 172.19.0.10
Filter: Block Immediately

then "OK".

I've even tried rebooting the router but it still doesn't block my internet access from this PC.

I have Firmware Version 3.3.0.1 and ADSL Firmware Version 211011_A Annex A. I'm reluctant to upgrade the firmware unless absolutely necessary, given the problems reported here by several users.

Finally, I've seen the FAQ at http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb_vigor_filtering.html but the interface that I have is nothing like that in the article.

Does anyone have any ideas to help me get this working?

See if this helps: go to Firewall -> Filter Setup and open Filter Set #2. There, set "Next Filter Set" to "Set#3" and OK the change.

Perfect - it works fine, thank you. I also did a bit of research and another way to do it is to edit Set#2 (Default Data Filter) and add a filter rule to block the outgoing traffic. I'm sure that there will be pros and cons about why which is preferable but, as long as I can get it to work, I'm happy!
