My first went for 6 hours before hardware failure. Wont boot.
My second lasted for 4hours and turned off and will not show any lights.
Is this normal for vigor products or is there something about me that is making them break? I'm begining to wonder.

It may be you have been very unlucky, but I'd start by checking out your power supply. DrayTek products often ship with ultra-cheap unregulated power adaptors, and these provide no protection against a flakey power supply.
