Vigor 2710 router with ADSL.

I have a web site accessable on my LAN using the IP address.
I have an A record set up at my ISP to forward to the WAN address.
I also have an A recored set up at my ISP that uses a website provided by them.
I can 'ping' both of these an see that they use different IP addresses. The one I want to find my LAN website uses the IP address assigned to me by my ISP.

I've set up the router to do port forwarding (both open ports and port redirection)
I've also reset the routers website to use port 8080.

When accessing I get connection timed out messages. I've also tried telnet'ing to the web server. This works from the LAN using an IP address, but when I try the public URL it fails.
Don't forget pinging the public URL does find my router from outside.

A start would be where to find any log files etc
