Vigor2600 SysLog utility was created by garydrew
I have a Vigor2600 router to which I have two PCs connected, one running Windows XP Home, the other running Windows 98.

I have se up the Windows 98 machine to act as a service monitor, permanently running the SysLog utility to log LAN activity. However, for some unknown (to me) reason every now and then the file to which the SysLog utility records the log events suddenly stops receiving logging entries.

When I check the SysLog utility panel I notice that the row of control buttons shows the red Record button back as red (indicating that it has stopped logging), when normally it is greyed out (indicating that it is recording to the log file). This happens without me touching the SysLog utility panel or even the Windows 98 PC.
It appears to be simply dropping the log file periodically.

Any ideas?
