2820/2830 on Sky LLU Chipset was created by eth0s
I'm looking into purchasing one of the above routers (currently on Sky LLU), I've seen a couple of threads stating compatibility issues with Sky's DSLAM.

The 2820/30 uses the Infineon chipset and Sky use Broadcom.

Is anyone running one on Sky, any issues / tips / quirks?

Thanks

I would be interested to know this too, as I am looking to switch from O2 to Sky in a couple of months.

O2 connection is currently running via the WAN1 ADSL port on the 2820 (very well and very stable, with an SNR of 2-3 and line speed of 19mbps). Was hoping to swap that connection for a sky one. WAN2 is connected to an openreach router for fibre broadband so WAN2 is already spoken for, so will need to get the 2820 talking to Sky through its ADSL port.

Hi,
Just seen this. I switched a customer from Sky to O2 earlier this year because we wanted to use a 3rd party router and found the Sky service wouldn't connect.
In my case the customer had bought a Netgear with Wireless N to upgrade from the Wireless G Sky router (a rebranded Netgear). I even pulled the config out of the Sky router and copied username, password, MAC address etc, all to no avail.
So before you go for Sky (and assuming you want to use your own router) do a Google search as I found lots of people complaining about this issue and how Sky rigidly stick to T's & C's about not being allowed to use 3rd party kit with their service.
Good luck though!

Hi all,

Im using the 2820 on the sky service. For some reason the download speed is about 1mbs slower than the supplied sky router. Anyone else found this issue. I am using firmware version v2820_v3352_2471201_A

I think that's fairly common with the draytek kit unfortunately.

I'm on O2 LLU. When I use my 2820 I get 19760129 bps/1205045 bps, whereas my o2-supplied (rebranded Thomson Speedtouch) manages 21044 kbit/s/1313 kbit/s. This on an upto 20mbit service. (I have a good line).

I'm considering reconfiguring the o2-supplied box to run in bridge-mode and connect it via wan2. Not sure if you can do the same with the Sky-supplied box or not.

I'm running 3.3.5.2_232201 on my 2820Vn
