Is firmware 1.5 ok in the UK? was created by vmrsss
Hello. I am based in the UK, I have noticed a beta of firmware 2130 v1.5.1 which seems to solve my problem about NAT (see previous posting). Yet, this is not on the Draytek's UK site. Would it be OK to upgrade from 1.4.1, or there are geographic dependencies in the software so that (some functionalities of) it would not work in the UK?

Thanks

It's an ethernet router so there's no geographical reasons for using one firmware or the other, it's probably just that the Draytek UK site hasnt been updated yet.

The only reason you might have to worry about firmwares being country specific is if you're using ADSL as there's two types of it, annex A and annex B, annex B isn't used in the UK so you wouldn't want to use that firmware on a UK ADSL router.

Thanks. I thought that the telephony part might possibly be affected.

Good point, but the only difference would be dialtones for those, and as far as I know you can set those in the phone settings :)
