My friend has installed a 2710n, however remote management does not seem to be working, as i cannot log in to open ports for him. He is not technically minded, and he got the router for free. Can nyone tell me how to set up remote management on this router ? I have downloaded the manual, but it is about as clear as mud. Also what port will it use ? as the manual does not actually state this......Many thanks in advance.

I assume there is no remote management facility on this router then ?? I shall tell him to buy a D-Link DIR655 instead, i have one of those and it rocks.

According to the instruction manual, the unit has remote management. It appears that out of the box this is disabled.

You have to log in in Admin mode to see this option - perhaps your friend is going in in user mode?
