not sure if this is a windows 7 or 2820vn problem.

but ever since swapping to windows 7 from xp, my connection seems unstable as anything and drops frequently. Also for some reason I have to map ports now, in xp all this was seemingly done automatically (like for instance I had to map the ports for sc2 to even log in to the game!)

I have disabled the windows firewall but it hasnt improved the situation.

Your SNR margin is very low, are you on Be/O2? - try the 2471201 modem code and if that also doesn't help, go back to 232201 and get the ISP to increase the SNR margin, ideally up to 6dB.

Windows 7 wouldn't have any effect on the router's ADSL line stability.
