Accessing a Vigor 120 from Internal LAN was created by bill.moo
Hello, I have a Vigor 120 connected to a D-Link DIR-825 Router with an internal IP of 192.168.0.1 according to the docs for the Vigor the User Interface (UI) can be accessed using 192.168.2.1. But I can't get access to this, even after giving my NIC multiple IPs.

Could some one tell me how I can access the UI on the 120 from within the 192.168.0.1 LAN please, I suspect I am missing something but what that something is I do not know.

Your help would be really appreciated.

I really wish you could access the V120 from the LAN. Previously we used V100 and as these had four ethernet ports, I connected one back onto the LAN which gave you access to it and allowed you to reboot the modem remotely.
As the V120 are only single ports, I've not found a way of accessing them over the LAN which is a right pain. It completely kills the remote admin possibilities and I frequently need to reboot the kit to fix ADSL issues. I wish Draytek brought back the V100 or something similar.

Hmm.. I had a similar problem..

what you have to do is this.

1. Configure your main adsl router with a static IP address, lets say 192.168.20.1.

2. Then connect the vigor 120 into your laptop using it's default IP and configure your laptop with an ip on the same subnet. Change the IP of the vigor 120 to be 192.168.20.2. Save changes and upgrade firmware.

3. Get a 4 port switch( or dedicated ports on a managed switch within a vlan ) Do not do this on a draytek 2xxx series - it doesnt work.I tried.

4. Connect your vigor 120, into the 4 port hub via the ethernet port on the vigor.

5. connect another cable from the 'router' you're using and want to do PPPoE from, to the 4 port switch.

The 'router' and Vigor must be on the same lan, as you can change the IP on the vigor 120.

I had this successfully working on my vigor 2820vn, as the 2nd wan port running two ADSL lines from the box.

That way i could bring up my 2nd line (wan2) via the 2820 using PPPoE and access the 2820 and Vigor 120 without problems.

Would that work if you had 2 Vigor120's v2

1 x Draytek Vigor2960 Dual WAN
2 x Vigor120 v2
1 x HP Procurve 5304xl

I'd assume I have to create 2 VLAN's on the Procurve 5304XL , 1 VLAN for 1 WAN, 1 Vigor120 and 1 patch to normal LAN

Would this Work ,
