Lan to Lan domain connectivity PPTP was created by andymdb
Hi All,

Basically we have an single domain active directory server1.BLAHBLAH.local in Leeds. We have 2 external Win7 Pro pc's in Sheffield which are not on the domain proper but can browse shares on the server using IP's not host names (DNS i hear you cry).
Mapped drives work too using IP's but not host names.

But none of this is our real issue. What is though is the below

We cannot add the pc's to the domain as they claim that there is no server available to log them on. LMHOST files have no effect.

The lan to lan connection is fine and stays connected solidly. I have set to PASS in the lan to lan connection the Netbios Naming Packet and the Multicast Via VPN to no avail.

Do i need to open up loads of ports to allow the dns and active directory ldap etc communication to happen? If so i can probably google them and sort it.

Many thanks

Andy
