I have a pair of 2820s each with it's own ADSL connection from two different ISPs (Be and PlusNet). This is deliberate so that certain services can remain accessible over the Internet should one of the 2820s fail.

router1's LAN is on 192.168.100.0 and router2's LAN is on 192.168.101.0.

I've connected the two 2820s via a LAN port on each, and want to setup a static route between each, such that LAN1 clients can see LAN2 clients, and vice versa. As per the Mikey's Guide (http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb_vigor_staticroute.html) I've setup the destination as 192.168.101.0 on router1, but I don't know what to set the gateway IP address to, as router2 has no LAN1 IP address unlike the example in the FAQ.

Is what I'm trying to do actually possible only using two routers connected via an ethernet cable? Or do I need a bridge between the two routers that has a LAN address on each LAN and setup the static routes through that? I was hoping not to have to use another bit of kit.

Thanks
Mike
