2820 -Slow performance ADSL was created by mawallace
I am on BT exchange - 21CN

It is a long line and with my Draytek it syncs at approx 3k

With a Netgear or Belkin route I get a sync at around 5k.

Is there an issue that I need to be aware of.

What firmware is best for BT 21CN - ASDL 2+?

Any ideas as to how I can improve the Vigor Sync rate?

Below is the stats from the Netgear

Type Interleave Path
Status Show Time
Downstream Upstream
Data Rate (kbps) 5984 864
Noise Margin (dB) 6.5 12.0
Attenuation (dB) 43.1 25.5
Output power(dbm) 19.9 12.4

With Draytek you have the luxury of choosing between a few different modem codes. Each have been specifically tweaked for different line conditions. The UK default is 232201. You can tell which one you are using on the system status page listed as "ADSL Firmware Version". That's the first page you will see after a successful login.

On the download page http://draytek.co.uk/support/downloads.html try firmware code 211801. That's more suited to the kind of speeds you're getting. You may not be able to sync at 5Mb/s like the Belkin or Netgear however.

Hope that helps.
