Vigor 2820 Spanning Tree Problem was created by tonyr67
Hi Folks

I have a user connecting a Vigor 2820 series to a Cisco switch via the W1 WAN port.
The user basically uses the 2820 to isolate a protect a couple of servers from the wider LAN.

The cisco switch is running the default PVST+ is receiving 802.1Q tagged BPDUs from the 2820 W1 WAN port which is not expected on an explicitly configured access port which is causing the Cisco switch port to be put in a Blocking state.

Is there anyway to disable STP BPDU's on the 2820 W1 WAN port? I know I can filter them on the Cisco switch but this leaves the port in a less than ideal state.

Failing that is there any way to disable VLAN tagging on the 2820 W1 port?

Failing that can I adjust the VLAN tag number for the W1 port?

Should the 2820 WAN port even be sending out tagged BPDUs on a non trunk link, is this a bug?

Cheers

Tony
