2820 keeps dropping off was created by waynerp
Hi All
i have been using my 2820n for a couple of months with no problem
it is upto date using the latest firmware 3.3.7.1_232201
the problems have been going on for about a week now.
i use 2 x 8 port d link gigabit switches to connect all my other equipment.
and every time i connect them the router loses connection. even if none of the equipment is turned on, it will still lose connection.
i am now at the point where the only thing connected to the router is my desktop pc.
any ideas?
thanks in advance

I know this is an old post, hopefully you've fixed it by now, but...

I was having exactly the same issues with two separate 2830s on two separate dsl lines. Never kept a connection for more than ~20 hours, and quite often could be as low as 20 or 30 minutes between drops. I noticed that when I kept a browser window open to keep an eye on it, the connections stayed up. I now leave a browser running on a server, with both routers open at online status > physical connection (auto logoff is OFF). They've both been up solid for over 143 hours now. You never know...

QoS, DoS etc are all disabled on mine, they were DEFINITELY causing dropouts.
