Menu not visible

Vigor 2810n.
All working OK but I need to make a change. However I can see very little of the menu. The screen displays but the space down the left hand side just has the background. The only menu options I can see, right at the bottom, are: Status Ready, Status Settings Saved and Status Invalid (with the word Invalid in red).
I've tried changing screen resolution, to no avail. Draytek have said that the firmware needs updating (v.3.3.0). However they state:
" ... hopefully that should resolve the issue. You won’t be able to restore your configuration backup as lots of changes has been made since you last updated. Clear the settings first before you upgrade ..."
I have a backup of the settings but that’s no good, as it can't be accessed without loading into the unit!
