2850Vn vs 3900 to Replace 2830Vn Dual WAN was created by ghostworks
I have a Vigor 2830Vn currently running with a Vigor 120 v1 for the Second WAN...

The second WAN crashes every morning up to 20 times from 7am to 9am , I have had the ISP engineer over to check to two lines incase it was weather related on the outside of the building , They recon its my equipment

The Features I use on the currently Vigor 2830Vn is the Dual Network on P1 and P2 , 1 for business network and the other for guests Network , the 3900 doesn't say if it can do that and no live interface demo to check , the main reason I looked at the 3900 is the fiber modules and 4 wan , as my main swith HP 5304xl has fiber to link to it...

or would i be better of with a small bump upgrade to 2850Vn , and is there any known issues on the 2850 / 3900 yet

Manx telecom business adsl2+ line
I think it's the latest firmware

I get constant emails from 7am to 10pm saying
Your Vigor2830 Series WAN2 interface was offline just now,
please notify the network admin for check.

The latest firmware improved adsl2+ [especially annex m] so it's worth unhooking and confirming.

The older power supplies shipped with the 120v1 didn't have enough oooomph ( sorry can't be sure if it was current or voltage ) to keep and annex m adsl2+ lines stable. Any chance of taking a photo of what you have, please?

See also the section: "Some ISPs using MPoA send 'rogue' (invalid) ARP messages to the modem. This will prevent data from flowing to the Internet; the router will show you as online, with an IP address. If this occurs, you will need to telnet to the router (not the modem) and issue the command ip arp accept 1. This is available on the Vigor29XX series routers." on http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb_vigor100_setup.html which may be relevant.

Regards,

Neal.
