What is a pretty straight-forward setup seems very confusing on a 2850!
I want to connect WAN1 to a BT infinity service which should get a dynamic IP, then use our pool of static public addresses on the inside of the draytek to assign to devices and pass all traffic through to the devices - i.e. no NAT, no firewall.

then i need to configure the static address allocation -
So this is what i want to achieve http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb_vigor_2ndsubnet.html but those setup pages don't correspond to the setup pages on the 2850: there isn't an option to add a second address for LAN1?

I too am trying to figure out how to utilise my range of public IPs on my router and having little joy. I have 13 usable Public IPs in total which Ideally I want to set up two LAN ports to distribute them, one by DHCP and one without DHCP if at all possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

for the benefit of anyone else reading the forum:

set the draytek as per http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/kb/kb_vigor_v2850_setup.html then under LAN, General Setup, create a static routed subnet with the static IP addresses alocated by your ISP. you should then be able to statically assign public IPs to devices inside the Draytek and it should pass all traffic to the internal device, while all other devices set to dynamic will pick up an address from the private DHCP pool 192.168.1.0/24

Hi,

I am going through the same process at the moment - using aliases / DMZ alone is not going to work. The first set up bit looks fine. I cannot see how one does the second bit (from "then under LAN" etc) - none of the explanations or descriptions I have found correspond to the 2850.

Ie, how does the "General set up" versus "static route" work - ie which bits are using public static IPs (the /29) versus the private 192.168 addresses? It's not particularly intuitive!
