What is the maximum WAN speed that a 2955 will support?

We are looking to upgrade our WAN connection to Virgin Media's Big Red service which offers 100mbps symmetric connection.

Will the 2955 actually support this much bandwidth?

If not, would the 2960 be a better bet with its gigabit WAN ports?

Vigor2955 will not be fast enough for that; Vigor 2960 would be.

to be honest I'd like to see 3rd party results for the 2960 before purchasing one.

That's a good point - I'd like to see a test done by Smallnetbuilder because they're quite impressively thorough on throughput tests.
