Is there a reliable way of blocking Spotify using a 2955?

Spotify itself it not a problem, however when 3 or 4 users are connected, due to its P2P nature, our bandwidth suffers.

try this filter rule, it should work I think:

Comment: Block Spotify
Direction: LAN to WAN
Source IP: leave this set to Any
Destination IP: click Edit and on there set the Address Type to Subnet
Address, in the IP Address enter 78.31.8.0 and for the Subnet Mask
enter 255.255.255.0 then click OK on there.
Service Type: leave this set to Any
Action: Block Immediately

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately it seems connect to another set of servers once that range is blocked.

I'll try to see if I can find the other servers it connects to using TCPview or similar.

Hmmmm

I'm doubtful that this method is going to work due to the P2P nature of Spotify.

Having run TCPView and playing one song, these are a few of the connections it created...

That's a shame :/ it used to work. I think if you can find out which other range it connects to by looking at wireshark on a PC connecting to spotify, you should be able to block the login mechanism which should stop the P2P nature of it from being a problem
