I am using VDSL2, No IPv6 (there is another thread as why), firmware 3.6.3.

Sometime, when the modem reboot (I had to reboot it yesterday) it does not pickup an IP from the dialup and end up with a 172.16.xxx.xxx kind of address instead of my normal fixed IP. I have to drop the PPP connection and it eventually gets a correct IP after 4-5 attempts. Anyone else saw that???

I also had the modem telling me I was using ADSL ( and to remove some connector ???? ) when trying to force VDSL in the WAN1 configuration. Not sure why but I keep getting weird issues with that router. I had a 2820 for 3-4 years before and never ever had to worry about anything. It just worked... 2850 is just a  %$&*^£% nightmare in comparison. Why cannot I get that same quality from a 2850?

I've only had VDSL since Thursday but did have this problem once. I changed my connection details from the advised PPPoE to PPPoA as in the below image. Now connecting seems much faster and has been totally reliable since making this change.
