Draytek 2820 - block Facetime was created by tony.mole
Hi All

I am sure that this is easy - but I am struggling...

I cant be alone in wanting to block Apple FaceTime traffic on my home network.

Ideally I would like to block incoming calls only, but reckon I might have to block it all together - which I can live with.

I have found from Apple support that the following ports are used;

80 (TCP)
443 (TCP)
3478 - 3497 (UDP)
5223 (TCP)
16384 - 16387 (UDP)
16393 - 16402 (UDP)

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4245

I have gone into Firewall -> Filter Setup and created Filter Set 3... within here I have blocked the above ports using;

Direction: WAN->LAN/RT/VPN
Source IP: Any
Service Type: TCP, Port: from 80 to 80 / UDP, Port: from 3478~3497 to 3478~3497 / TCP, Port: from 5223 to 5223 / UDP, Port: from 16384~16387 to 16384~16387 / UDP, Port: from 16393~16402 to 16393~16402
Fragments: Dont Care
Filter: Block Immediately

In Firewall -> General Setup, Data Filter is enabled and Start Filter Set is "Set#2"

Firewall -> Filter Set 2 has been set to "Next Filter Set: Set#3" also.

But - this doesn't seem to stop the outside caller being able to FaceTime in!

The purpose of the exercise is to stop my kids getting calls late at night and at the moment they connect to a second WLAN which I have created with different credentials to the main one so I can "turn off" their wireless devices if I need to - but I would like to be able to isolate this particular service while still letting them have internet access.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks
