Hi,

I am trying to configure a Vigor 2960 w/ firmware 1.0.6.1 installed with some basic port redirection (SMTP etc) and simply cannot get it to work.

I setup port redirection from the NAT -> PORT REDIRECTION menu via the following steps:
1) Click ADD
2) Enter SMTP in Profile Name
3) Select ENABLE THIS PROFILE
4) Interface = ALL
5) Private IP address = 192.168.32.254
6) Port redirection Mode = One-to-One
7) Public Port Start = 25
8) Private Port = 25
9) Click on the APPLY button

...yet it doesn't seem to work when testing via telnet 25

The mail server is listening on port 25 as I can access it via a 2nd ADSL line (which does not pass through the Vigor). I've tried rebooting the device just in case but still no luck.

I'm stuck. Can anyone provide any assistance. I'm probably missing something obvious but at the moment can see the proverbial wood for the trees.

Thanks in advance for any pointers etc.

Its prob the return traffic, im guessing the mail server has the other router providing the DSL as the return path, check your default gateway settings on the mail server.

Thanks for your reply. I think you may be right. Knew it would likely be something silly. Yesterday was a long day.

I won't be able to test until tonight at the earliest but will post back and confirm if that was the issue.

Thanks
