HI All, I'm trying dismally to set a domain name suffix for internal DHCP on my 2960. None of the telnet commands I can find on the internet actually work on the 2960 -- for instance sys domainname.

Does anyone know:

1) How to set domain suffix on a 2960
2) Where I can get a Telnet command reference for this model.

I received a reply from Draytek support. The 2960 does not support domain suffix.

For a £500 router it is missing many critical features that other Draytek devices cost half as much provide.

Why do you need the suffix ?

1. It's part of the DHCP RFC -- so any normal person would expect a £500 router to provide it.
2. DNS suffixes are appended for use in completing unqualified DNS names that are used for searching and submitting DNS queries at the client for resolution. For DHCP clients, this is set on the DHCP server by assigning the DNS domain name option (option 15) and providing a single DNS suffix for the client to append and use in searches
3. Many of your other (cheaper) products have it.
4. Most widely used in Windows DHCP (Option 15)
