I am considering buying an old 2820.
Excuse me but I can't locate simple answers in the forum because "the words are too common".

What I do note from websearches is a lot of disquiet about the firmware, and reports of lack of engagement in the past from support.
Have these issues have been resolved by now, or is the 2820 still regarded as a heap of stuff one should steer well clear of?

It's just for light use.

Does the latest firmware yet successfully support IPV6?
Does it talk to Linux?
Are VPNs workable?
Can one use the box independently for P2P, BT, magnet links etc, as I gather the '30 can do?
How well does it do VOIP?
Is there any linux firmware to be used as a last resort?

I'd be grateful for any views from those who have gone through the experience.
