Where can I find out more about the DSL Modem Code options & their compatability with different DSLAM chipsets for the Draytek Vigor 2860n router ? ( as I'd like to improve my ADSL2+ sync speed which seems to be much lower than an older, non-Draytek router)

Page 55 of the Draytek Vigor User Guide mentions the following modem code options:

- Default (current setting, resulting in Sync rate of almost 3mb lower)
- annexA_531a16_533011
- annexA_532816_533b11
- annexA_541316_5400411
- annexA_542016_533b11
- annexA_547916_544411
- annexA_548006_544401

I have looked at on line user guide and there is not mentioned anything about modem codes ... perhaps is at the book user guide shipped with your 2860?
Because is new model (just come out) ... as far i know there is not any other alternative modem codes (at least for now) but i may be wrong

The only i can see at the moment is only one DSL firmware version 050404040001
Best is to send a question at the support team where you may get better informations and let us know if will be any modem codes in the future as i am interesting about this model

You may get little better speed if you try reboot the 2860 early morning hours (if will work)

I think no one knows yet, which modem code did you see the best speed with?

I have tried some of the other modem codes (6 additional settings available) and stuck with the DEFAULT for now as the DSL modem did not successfully train / connect using some of the other settings available.

I have also asked my ISP to request a reset of my IP profile to see whether the DSL modem can achieve a higher sync speed. Still curious as to why the sync speed is significantly lower than my previous Modem / Router ?

I have also tried the 3.73 RC4 firmware and have reverted back to the 3.71 firmware, in lieu of a number of UI bugs which have been corrected in the later (RC4) firmware.

Look forward to the final release of the 3.7x firmware for the 2860n.
