We have the below setup and want to monitor the bandwidth usage of each user using the PRTG Network Monitor

Router - 2830
Wan2 - BTNET Fiber Leased Line

Lan 2 (Public IP Subnet - Our Connection
Lan 3 (Public IP Subnet - Customer Connection
Lan 3 (Public IP Subnet - Customer Connection

when using PRTG to monitor the usage via SNMP i only get the below options

LAN
ADSL
WAN2
WAN3
Reserved
008
009
010

so nothing showing up for Lan 2, 3 and 4

seems Draytek have link all 4 lan ports together which is bad as i wanted to be able to monitor the bandwidth usage of all the lan ports.

any way around this

SNMP can't report on specific LAN bandwidth usage, you need to see if PRTG can determine bandwidth based on LAN IP range and a monitor port, alternatively look at SmartMonitor (free for use with the Drayteks) which does exactly that.

only problem with that is you need to dedicate a lan port for the monitoring. they are all being used.

If you have a managed switch, you can use that to set up the monitor port, but I know what you mean, I'm looking forward to getting a 2860 at some point, 2 extra LAN ports are handy

I'm seriously considering getting the 3900 Router / Firewall

just the price is a pit high just to get the snmp monitoring per port.

does it need to be a managed switch or can it be a web smart Draytek VigorSwitch G1240

It needs to be any switch that can set up a monitor port, so that's the G1240 if you're after new stuff. I use an old dell powerconnect 2716 for it when needed.
