3900 Router - /254 subnet mask was created by dave32
We purchased the 3900 to replace one of our core routers to only find out that the wan interface does not support a subnet mask of 255.255.255.254 /31 which is used by ISPs who assign static wan IP Addresses.

Draytek have confirmed that we are not the only customer to complain regarding this limitation and said its been logged with Draytek HQ but no lead time for new firmware to add this subnet mask.

now having to return the router and go get a Cisco. kinda really annoys me really. why put such a restriction in place when its not in any of the other routers and yet this one is an enterprise grade router

oh and it runs at 90% cpu usage out of the box and not connected to any wan interface.

The higher end routers really haven't had a good time since their release have they!!

I know they are cheap in comparison but you'd still expect them to do what it says on the tin
