I have a 2830 router installed in a village hall to provide Wi-Fi etc. Syslog is enabled to a usb memory stick and mail alert setup. Periodically I get an email with subject similar to this: 'Syslog File:/SysLog/001/049_2014-02-13_19-56-25.log.gz' with the file attached. I have Syslog 4.5.1 installed on my home machine. The log viewer import button allows me to open the expanded file but when the viewer is closed the data is not available in the main syslog screen tabs where it can be filtered etc. How do I get the log file into Systools in a usable form ? There is no permanently running pc in the hall and upload limits preclude a permanent vpn link.
