Draytek 2830n 4G / Upload / Broadband was created by crush8386
Hi Guys,

just wanted your comments and to see if this is possible.

We unfortunately are in an area where fibre will not be installed certainly for this year. I have ADSL 2+ connection which gets 8MB down and 600k up.

However we are in an 4G area, but at the minute there isn't an unlimited 4g data plan.

Is there a way to configure the draytek to use the broadband to download and use the 4g stick which I'll buy if possible to just do the uploads, and if possible configure a certain machines to use the upload via 4g and the rest to use the broadband to upload?

I know that's a thousand questions above, but I really need to improve the upload cheaply and I think the 4G would be the way to go?

thanks
Geoff

From the specs the 2830n it seems is only supporting 3.5G/4G but there is an asterisk which i don't see details about it

USB port for network FTP, printer and 3.5G/4G* mobile broadband connectivity

If you don't get any answer soon ... i would say to contact draytek for more accurate answer info@draytek.co.uk and ask about the asterisk details if is something hidden

thought I would pass this on

..

Hi Geoff,

This would be possible using the Policy Route feature on new routers such as the DrayTek Vigor 2860:
http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/business/vigor-2860

Policy Route guide:
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-policy-routing-guide

It makes it possible to configure a WAN interface to be used for only specified traffic which could be the site you're uploading to.
