restoring config back up file to same model router was created by casino

Hi, i have two 2820vn routers and wondered if there is a way to restore the back up file from one router to the other, i have tried but it said the file was wrong but does anyone know of a way to do this.

both routers have the same latest firmware.

it should work ... the only i can think is because maybe one or the other model did upgraded to latest firmware different
example at the released notes

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not upgrade directly from 3.3.5 (and earlier) to 3.3.7.3 or later
Due to differences in the Web UI and functionality the router MUST first be
upgraded to 3.3.5.2 prior to upgrading to 3.3.7.3 or later

Upgrade your router to Version 3.3.5.2 first, and afterward upgrade the router
to Version 3.3.7.3.

I can be mistaken but if there is differences in the UI maybe that is why see it as wrong

ok i have downgradd the formware to 3.3.5.2 and then upgraded to 3.3.7.3 and tried again and it sayd config filename mismatch. restore anymore?

the one thing i am not sure of is if the firmware was upgraded this way on my old router.

if gives you the option to continue press yes
i am getting mismatching message ( with the 2830 model) but 2 times i have tried , it did load fine with this mismatching message, no problems so far
should not be problem now

hi

yes it did work, thank you for your help. i did try that first of all and it didn't work but after downgrading the firmware and upgrading the firmware it worked ok.
