2830n Can't restrict access to port was created by badasafish
Hi all

Model Name : Vigor2830n
Firmware Version : 3.6.3_sb_232201
Build Date/Time : Sep 17 2012 16:18:48

I need to secure a port on my firewall as I can see it's being targeted. I don't want to use NAT port redirection since it will involve updating all the connection details on my clients and that's not ideal. All access to the port is from a few static IP addresses therefore what I want to do is just to allow access to this port from these IP addresses, but so far I have been unable to achieve this.

As a simple test I have port forwarded the external port to the local PC, then I have added a Filter Rule to the Default Data Filter to block all traffic on this port but I can still access it remotely.

Settings:
  • WAN -> LAN/RT/VPN

  • Source Address: Any

  • Destination: IP Address of local device that the port is forwarded to

  • TCP/UDP, PORT Number

  • Block immediately

Any ideas please?

Many thanks, Stephen
