2860n Reboot was created by weehappypixie
Hi,

I have several 2860n routers all running the latest firmware 3.7.4.1. The internet is VDSL supplied by Zen.

If I configure the inbuilt VDSL modem of the 2860 (manually adding in the vlan 101 id) it syncs and connects no problem however if I then do a large download >20mb or run a speed test on speedtest.net the router starts off with very fast download speeds which rapidly get slower and then the router reboots itself.

If I disable wan 1 (inbuilt modem) and use the BT OpenReach one via WAN 2 the connection is stable. All 3 of my 2860's are doing this. Resetting to factory defaults with older firmware makes no difference. They all reboot when using the inbuilt modem. I've tried setting to to Auto and VDSL only. Tried different modem code all to no avail.

Any further suggestions as using the BT modem sort of defeats the purpose of having a router with a modem built in.

Oh one last thing, all are connected to dedicated phone lines with no extensions and plugged into the master socket. BT have checked all 3 lines and reported no fault.

Thanks,

John

Have you tried turning UPnP off? That was the problem on my ADSL. Fix in the works.

Try each step separately
make sure the activity mode is always on & enable yes > at wan general setup
also make sure the MTU (i think the default is 1442) to 1492 > wan internet access
change from auto to vdsl the dsl mode > wan general setup
Tick at the Load-Balance/Route Policy the wan is in use ... if still issues
Disable first upnp & see if it makes any difference, if still issues disable DoS & QoS maybe the firewall
Is this happening with wifi or via cable

Just an update guys,

Disabling the UPNP seems to have cured it so far. All routers been up for 17 hours now with no drop outs although the sync speed is a lot lower than with the original BT modem.
