Block port help please was created by allgermanparts
Hi all,
This is my first post and I'd like to thank anyone for helping me in advance. I have had a security scan done for my PCI DSS compliance and failed as there is an open port on the router showing. I believe this was used for my remote access. The lovely company I bought it off (MAM Software) will not tell me how to block this as I now only pay them for software support. Thanks for going above the call of duty.. Could anyone kindly explain how to block the port please. Cheers again

Kind regards
Jason

Welcome
What port is it?
If its remote access and you only have a single external IP then you need to lock in down so only a certain source can connect to it.
If you block it completely you wont be able to use the remote access anymore.
If however you have a public subnet then put the PCI devices on another IP from your range and block everything to it from the Untrusted (internet) to the Trusted (Lan).

Hello Sicon,
Thanks for the reply. I think it was 4480 but I can check tomorrow. The remote access was for my Point of Sale Software company to log in if they needed to provide support. I do use Teamviewer btw and wouldn't like to affect that access. My software provider usually uses logmein rescue to access the system if that helps. I will confirm the port and hopefully get back to you tomorrow if that's OK.
Cheers
Jason
