2860n VLAN newbie question was created by nf_crewe_cw1
Hi I have just bought a 2860n and an setting up for our company. My objective is to have 1 vlan for all network and broadband access (ports 1-4 and Wireless) and create a separate vlan (port 6) for the VOIP - using a different IP subnet. can anyone advise how I do this, I tried using my initiative and wasn't too successful LOL.
New to Vigor but fairly experienced in networking

Thanks in advance

Nick

Sound like it just a simple port based VLAN.

It would look something a bit like this - No 802.11Q needed unless you want to using tags

Based on the slightly older 2830 model....

go to LAN>VLAN and enable.

Against VLAN0, untick P6
Against VLAN1, tick P6 & set Subnet to LAN 2
Press OK.

Now go to LAN>General Setup & tick Status & DHCP for LAN2 and then click its Details Page button...and set the details according to your requirements.

Decide whether inter-lan routing should be possible and, if that doesn't appear to work, make sure you create a "load Balance policy/Route" for both your LANs.
