Sorry not answering the question, is very difficult to say because is old model * guessing not many users still have it in use, but if helps the newer models can take up to 23 & not all special characters are supported

Only 23 characters seems a bit short but if newer models have that restriction then I'm guessing that the 2600 does as well.
I shall experiment tomorrow.

PS. I've kept with the old 2600 because it is so robust - it has survived at least one local lightning strike and was recoverable after a reboot, factory reset and reload from configuration file backup. I doubt many other manufacturers could boast such hardiness for their machines!

I have run tests and can confirm that for the Vigor2600 the maximum password length is 23 characters.
