Bulk Configuration possible? was created by akirkby
Hello all,

I'm new to the world of Draytek devices, usually working with Cisco and Juniper.

I'm working on a project that initially requires 8-10 Vigor 2860 routers to be configured, all with the same configuration re SNMP setup etc and also for IPSec configuration to configure callback to a couple of central sites.

Using Cisco/Juniper devices it would be a relatively simple matter to write a single base configuration and then transfer, with changes as a text file i.e. cut/paste.

Is this method of configuration possible with the Vigor 2860? I can see the CLI but am not sure if I can do all the config from it?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Andy

you cant do it with the CLi as the config is just a bin file but if they all are the same device then you can set up your base device config, back that up then restore it to the others.

I have 100+ routers (2830) - and they are installed already

I need to do the next tasks (but some important options are not available via CLI or not documented):
- add WiFi config (telnet command for WPA-PSK key is not present)
- add open ports
- add firewall rules (how to create objects via CLI - ? and how to use them in CLI ?)

Any chance these could be done via script or any kind of automation?

Many thanks

You could check out Vigor ACS-SI which is for larger estates of routers and can send global configs to all.
