2760n / DrayOS 3.7.5.4 / Infinity drops was created by hernibles
Hello,

Some months ago I purchased a 2760n router, in anticipation of Infinity.

I used it for some months on ADSL and it was solid as a rock, holding a connection for weeks at a time.

Since VDSL was installed about a month ago I am seeing disconnection, typically once or twice a day and usually when the internet is in use....but I cannot associate the disconnection with any particular client or usage.....but disconnections do not happen in the middle of the night when nothing is being used!

Connection is about 55M down / 13M up. BT have line tested and report no faults.

Other than a few IP address "bindings" on my LAN I am using none of the router's other features.

Can anybody suggest what may be the issue, or a diagnostic strategy?

David

Try the vector firmware from here (just load the *all* file which keeps same settings)
http://www.draytek.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=5435:vigor2760n-delight&Itemid=662&lang=en#downloads
is more stable
is the same as the STD version just are different modem codes from UK i think

You can also try with the current firmware you have & at wan>general setup change the dsl modem code to the 2nd alternative

Thanks Babis.

Tonight I noted the router disconnection was simultaneous with me attempting to play an HD stream from iPlayer on a SAMSUNG TV. Have seen this several times already.

Have now updated to v2760_v1_3754.all and will see what happens! Will report back.

Hello again,

Everything seems to have been more stable but today the connection dropped again using iPlayer from SAMSUNG TV via wireless.

Re-reading your link above I can see I used the v2760_v1_3754.all firmware, but I see lower down there is a UK specific 3.7.5.1 version.

Should I have used this?

the UK download page has the almost the same, i can see 3.7.5.4
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads
look at the 2760 dray os
if is more stable then you should not worry, is the same just the modem code (dsl driver) change
you can try the one from UK which has different modem code (just use the all* file extention) if is better
The one i suggested first time is has other modem code

If you have issue with wifi HD try some combinations at Wireless Lan>advanced settings with
Guard Interval
Long Preamble
&
Wireless LAN >> WMM Configuration, disable if will make difference
... but if you mean you are having line disconnection try the new firmware from UK & see which one of the 2 are better
