Does anyone know the difference between the 2 firmware's?

Vectoring is not supported currently, either by ISPs or in the UK spec, so probably irrelevant.

even if not supported in the UK, some people have use the vector with very good results (seems specially with broadcom exchanges)
It is better and for my adsl line (keeps the line more stable & less errors - broadcom exchange)
Perhaps is due to the enabled noise cancellation the Vector protocol offers

Vectoring is a VDSL technology, so doesn't affect ADSL. If there is a difference, then it's not down to the vectoring but something else in the fw or modem code.
