Draytek 2860n firmware/modem code was created by toekneem
Just set up the Draytek 2860n initially on BT Infinity. All working well . Have multicast set up and BT sports works.

I can see that there is new firmware available. Currently on 3.7.4.1 , and 3.7.4.4 is available. I will probably leave the upgrade till I'm sure all is well but on the download page I see that it shows 2 different firmwares for the 2860.

firmware 3.7.4.4 with default /std modem code and firmware 3.7.4.4 with 567517 modem code.

What is the difference. How can I tell what modem code I have. Doing a search I can find references to modem code but no real explanation.
any ideas.

The default/std is firmware for the UK only I believe.
I put it on my 2860n+ and it works just fine.

the modem code you have now usually can see it physical connection > dsl status (lower at the page) ADSL Firmware Version: xxx
or at dashboard > system information>dsl version

the difference
http://www.draytek.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=1226&Itemid=293&lang=en

If you feel for testing you may need to try which one is better for your line (perhaps watch out the snr if is stable with your line & crc errors) ... unless if is working fine leave it as it is

Personal i notice broadcom exchanges may be better with the vector firmware which can be found here (VECTOR)
http://www.draytek.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=1226&Itemid=293&lang=en
The only difference is for vectoring lines ( i know is not supported in the UK) but the modem code (i think is different than UK ones) seems is good enough for broadcom

Again this is only for testing if you have time & willing to do it, or perhaps for your knowledge once you are a Draytek user ... other way let alone the modem code & firmware currently working ... don't blame me if issues starts :)

whatever you want to use it or not (an other user has used it in the link up i gave) there is a previus beta 3.7.7 with spectrum & dsl stats monitor - from the Turkish FTP
ftp://ftp.simet.com.tr/02_TEKNIK_SERVIS/01_DrayTek/Vigor2860/v2860_r44321_v3.7.7_RC4a.7z
Keep it for your records :)

Also take a look at the commands ... you was beta tester for some isp & can figure them out
There is snr change & for vdsl, dynamic SOS (in the vector firmwares)
also command adsl/vdsl show or show vdls/adsl will bring you some additional infos

to add ... the *all* file extension will keep current settings
the *rst* will reset everything back to factory defaults & is recommended for major firmware updates, where new settings added and will not conflict with previous firmwares
