2760 and PhyR was created by tacitus
Over on Kitz they are reporting that BT are starting to roll out PhyR http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?topic=14867.0

Initially at least this appears mostly to be compatible with Broadcom chips, so I'm wondering how this may affect Draytek routers in general and the 2760 range in particular. I've just installed a couple of 2760s which are chugging away nicely, so I'm wondering if they might pose a problem since there's nothing in the GUI that mentions PhyR.

Could someone let me know whether these models use Broadcom chips as in the past Draytek favoured Connexant - now Lantiq I believe, since some users on the Kitz forum report potential compatibility problems with non Broadcom chips. If the 2760s do not use Broadcom, will there be firmware updates to take account of Phy R?

Hi
From my knowledge PhyR is only available at broadcom chipsets ... i am not sure if other manufacturers will follow it & if yes will be successful ... but the 2760 Delight version
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/os-versions-on-vigor-2760-series-routers
(if you have the old linyx 2760 can convert it by asking the support)
it does have G.INP via the VECTOR firmware (2760 delight) and you can control it via telnet - not remember the command right now as i have an asus for testing & a 2830n right now on)

My guess UK download pages will update soon with vector firmware as well & i am sure draytek will update any settings if needs
The vector is been working already good for the 2860 (has same modem codes as the 2760/130) so IF you have issues (other way leave the unit as it is) give a try with vector which works good for the broadcom exchanges

As owner of the 2760 it does work good & for my adsl line (more stable the snr & errors than the the STD) but i am waiting for the new firmware 3.7.8 to come out very soon for more testings
Here an example but are few others about vector in the forums here

Thanks for the information. Being new, both are currently running 3.7.5.4 in the 'Delight' series without any problems. I could ask support for the Telnet commands, but since there don't appear to be any problems and 3.8 is in preparation it's probably best to wait. I'm not privy to any of the Beta firmware, but I imagine that the latest GUI will make provision for any setting necessary for Phy R and vectoring.

Interestingly a Zyxel 3300 which I recently installed does have a setting for PhyR so I imagine that uses a Broadcom chipset.

From what you say PhyR is designed specifically for Broadcom chips - any others and it has to be implemented purely in Firmware. We'll see what happens.

Once again thanks for the response
