Can anyone assist? Vigor 2820 in use. How good is the firewall? and what is its default status ie is it effectively blocking everything & then I need to open what I want, or is everything open & need to set up rules? Want users behind it to be able to access internet, email & an incoming vpn but otherwise want to be secure (if that's possible!) Thanks!!

that's a real old router now that's been superseded and EOL but it does block incoming and you need to open ports for specific inbound traffic .

Thanks- am looking at the 2860 replacement, but 2820 is surely not THAT old!!!, I've got a 2600 series in use on another site:-) & that IS old!

it went EOL in 2011 - I suppose it depends on your definition of old. 2860 is a good replacement for sure!

Thanks - it probably says a lot about how sound the 28xx range has been that we've had such trouble free use & not noticed the years fly by:-) Will go with that recommendation for the upgrade thanks!
