Hi All,
I have a Virgin Superhub 2 and enjoy an MMO game called Eve Online. For the past several months I would get at least two disconnects from the Eve server a day, sometimes more. When I asked their tech support team they pointed the issue back to either my router and / or my ISP who may be traffic shaping some ports as Eve uses ports 26000 or 3724 (port 26000 is often associated with peer - peer networks apparently). I was advised to put the SH2 in to modem mode and get myself a decent router hence the reason I bought a 2830n. I installed this last night to the best of my ability (which isn't high!) and although we have fully functional internet and wifi my socket closed (disconnects from Eve) were far far worse to the extent where I've had to go back to the SH2!
My PC has a hard wired connection directly to the 2830.
Can anyone advise if there are settings I need to make to monitor why these disconnects are occurring and what can be done about them?
TIA
Daz
