ADSL status speed was created by theia
Hi,
Am I correct in thinking that the 'Physical connection' ADSL status speed is the Maximum that can be delivered to our router?
or is there a 'normal' amount of speed loss between ADSL speed of the router, and the download speed of the user?
e.g.
The 5760kbps download speed reported on the router....

and the 4719kbps in use?

I'd appreciate clarification
Thanks
T.

It is the maximum possible throughput for the line though I wouldn't usually expect to see over 1mbps less, which does matter with an ADSL line.
With DSL lines that connect through BT Openreach, there is also an IP profile, which sets the IP throughput at the exchange side - if you try doing a BT speed test you can see that value, perhaps it's lower for your line?
