Hi Folks,

Can anyone help. I have a Vigor 2865vac running 4.3.2_BT firmware. I have just connected a new Vigor switch G2280x with the latest firmware. On the 2865 I have the external devices enabled and when I go into the Central Management / Switch / Status screen I can see the switch under New Switch List however instead of the Add button as mentioned in the manual it just say's Note in red.

The switch is on the supported list and the firmware exceeds the minimum needed.

Any idea how to add the switch.

Is telnet enabled under management in Switch ?
Telnet is required for management from the router.
If telnet net is enabled, can you telnet into the switch successfully ?

ive got the exact same issue, and there's no support out there mentioning the same.

Router 2862 with latest firmware 3.9.8.1_BT

vigorswitch G2280x with latest firmware 2.7.4

all i see is a red note piece of text. no add button.

Goto ‘External Devices’ enable External devices and Switch Management then click on the ‘Account’ button for the device in question, enter in the username and password for that device and click ‘OK’. Now return to the Switch status page and the ‘Add’ button should be visible instead of a red ‘note’.

I too struggled with this at first but eventually found the correct information in the manual.

It would’ve been much easier if the Draytek programmers had simply added ‘RTFM’ instead of a red text saying ‘Note’!
