Vigor 2766ac syslog prefix was created by xer0w
I've just noticed that the syslog entries for my Vigor 2766 router are written with the old 2762 prefix:

I'm writing out to a syslog server on port 514 using rsyslog.
Not a major issue, but I suspect a bug that needs squashing.

Check your ‘Router Name’.
See top of Dashboard view, and click ‘Router Name’; it may have carried forward from a backup/restore.
Try renaming it.

Router name is DrayTek.
There's no prefix string in the syslog settings either, so it must be hard coded.

Strange. You might be right then, it may be a bug.
I have just tested this on a 2862 and a 2927 and the syslog carries the ‘Router Name’ immediately after the date and time; with no reference to the ‘Model Name’ field.
I would still try changing the router name, it might force a correction in the code…? Worth a try.

So, I setup another syslog server to test, and the prefix wasn't present. Must be something local...
Turns out I had a hosts file entry on the syslog server for the old router, which the DrayTek uses as a prefix if present. Interesting.
